Stainless steel profiles: Profilpas solutions
Among the metal construction materials used both in the civil and in the industrial field, stainless steel is becoming more and more important. Nowadays, it is one of the most used materials by architects, contractors and final users thanks to its mechanical features and its resistance to corrosion that allows to avoid heavy maintenance works over time. Indeed, stainless steel is a metal alloy composed of special elements that form a transparent thin layer which, if damaged, immediately regenerates itself thanks to the presence of oxygen, thus protecting the material from corrosion.
Profilpas, among the profiles and skirting boards on catalogue, offers solutions both in stainless steel AISI 304 and AISI 316. Aesthetically identical, these two kinds of stainless steel are different for the chemical composition: indeed, the AISI 316, compared to the AISI 304, contains more Molybdenum and more Nickel that make it particularly resistant to corrosion in aggressive spaces where there is a high concentration of chlorine and salt, such as marine areas and swimming pools. However, both of them are resistant to chemical and atmospheric agents, lime and mortar, adhesives for tiles and cleaning products.
The stainless steel profiles can be installed both inside and outside and need a simple periodic maintenance in order to preserve the brilliance of the surface: after a cleansing with soap and water, proceed with an abundant rinsing and an accurate drying with absorbent paper or a cloth. It is strongly recommended to avoid the use of cleaning products containing chlorides, in particular hydrochloric acid, bleach, muriatic acid and descalers, and the use of abrasive sponges or scrapers.
Profilpas profiles in stainless steel 304 are available in polished, super polished, satin and sandblasted finish. In addition to these traditional finishes, Profilpas has integrated the range Profilpas Design with refined finishes of chromium-plated stainless steel that are perfect to finish and decorate design ceramic coverings: mirror, nickel, black nickel, copper bronze and brass bronze.
